‘luxury is not anymore a matter of comfort. nowadays, luxury is to
be able to decide where you want to have a moment of peace, a chance to
escape from hectic activity of contemporary lifestyles’. says jorge penadés.
Exploring the potential of temporary furniture, spanish designer jorge penadés has created the ‘nomadic chair’, a flexible piece that can be adorned like a backpack.
the project reduces traditional comfort levels, replacing them with an
object that encourages maximum mobility for an on-the-go lifestyle.
The structure is formed without any screws, nails or glue so it is
simple to break apart and reassemble. the system works through a series
of connections that follow classical wooden joinery, able to be put
together quickly by hand. the simplicity of its construction is a key to
the ‘nomadic chair’s’ dynamic design.
